Is Google’s blogging platform underperforming in Google search?

Why aren't bloggers using Blogspot as much anymore?

I've had this question for a while but never gave it much thought until now.

The most popular social blogging platform I know is Substack. Besides Substack, I’ve also heard of Tumblr, but I'm not sure how popular it is these days. When I search for Blogspot’s popularity as a blogging platform, most of the answers I find come from Quora. I'm not sure how reliable Quora is, though—I sometimes question its credibility.

Many people also recommend WordPress, but it requires a hosting site. I’m looking for a blogging platform that doesn’t require hosting; I want something where I can create an account, start writing, and publish right away.

I’d also like to use hashtags to help with SEO. But do hashtags still work for SEO?"
